CHAMPACA – You Wouldn’t Expect This To Be The Herbal Medicine That It Is


Champaca is a small tree which is known for its fragrant yellow flower. This is usually planted as an ornamental plant. This is planted for display purposes most of the time because many are not aware that this beautiful ornamental plant has many health benefits.  



The different parts of the plant contain several kinds of nutrients and chemicals beneficial to the body. This has volatile oil which contains isoeugenol, cineol, benxyl alcohol, benzoic acid, p-cresol methyl ether and benzaldehyde. 

The bark contains resin, fixed oil, mucilage, tannin, sugar and starch. 

HOW TO USE; 

LEAVES – These are usually boiled and the strained liquid can be used in many kinds of illnesses. This can also be crushed then add in oil. 

BARK – Same as the leaves, this is also boiled most of the time and the sick person can drink the liquid used to boil it. 

ROOTS – This can also be boiled and the liquid can be drunk by a sick person. 

FLOWERS – This can either be boiled or crushed.  

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH CONDITIONS THAT THE CHAMPACA CAN HEAL? 

*Swelling on any part of the body. The leaves can be placed on top of the affected area. 

*If there are intestinal worms, the extract from the leaves can be a very effective remedy. Just drink it together with a glass of water. 

*Gas pains can also be treated using champaca. Just drink the leaves’ extract. 

*Rheumatism can be treated by drinking the liquid from the boiled leaves. Another alternative is to crush the leaves and mix it in oil. This can in turn be used as an alternative to pain reliever gels. Crushed flowers can also alternate with the leaves. 

*For sore throat, drinking the liquid from the boiled leaves can be used as a remedy. 

*Fever can also be treated by drinking the liquid from boiled bark. 

*To have a regular menstruation, drinking the liquid from the boiled roots can solve this condition.

*If you feel bloated, just drink the liquid from the boiled flower for treatment.
