WHY GRANPA AND GRANDMA HAVE FOREVER WHILE YOU ONLY HAVE THE PRESENT

Do you ever wonder why nowadays, relationships just end up so quickly? At times, it would seem like they shift from one relationship to another as if they are just changing shirts. You will now usually be in awe if you see old couples together and wonder how they managed to stand against all the trials their relationship went through.

So why is that so? What difference do they have with the people and relationships of the so called “gen X” and “millennials”? Do they really have a much different relationship values than that of older folks?

In my very own opinion and observation, the rise of technology has so much contribution why this is happening. In the older days, courtship is very much practiced with so much patience and respect not only on the girl you are courting but more so with the parents and other family members. As a woman, you are also able to see if this man courting you is worth loving and spending your future with.

Nowadays, courtship is only done through texts and on social media apps; that is if ever there was a courtship that transpired at all. Most of the time, the relationship happens even without the family knowing about it. It is also very easy to have multiple relationships at the same time because of this. You can have a girlfriend/boyfriend anywhere without them knowing about it. If you lose interest, it will be very easy to just disappear without a formal goodbye.

Another thing, if you are from different sides of the globe, it is much easier for one or both partners to fool around without the other one knowing about it. It would be very easy to give in to temptation because you are very far from your partner.

But whatever the reasons behind this are, one thing is very clear; relationships don’t last anymore because the respect for the relationship itself is no longer there. I guess people think that there is no more need to take relationships seriously because if one ends, it would be so damn easy to find another one.
