If we talk about over-the-counter meds, it can be said that VICKS VAPORUB is on the traditional side. This is so because if you compare Vicks to other non-prescription oral treatment, this functions much better. Most medicines come in the form of tablets or pills while Vicks treat illnesses with its vapors.



Vicks' main components are eucalyptus oil, camphor and menthol. These components, once we have breathed it in will relieve our cough and the congestion that goes with it. Vicks is also a great topical analgesic.

Aside from these, there are other several uses of Vicks and they are;

HEADACHES
Apply Vicks on your temples to relieve your headache. If you are suffering from a sinus headache, just apply it under the nose. Try to inhale it slowly and deeply.

MUSCLE ACHE
Massage Vicks on the affected area then wrap in a warm dry towel.

EARACHES
Aside from an ear infection, the common cold can cause earache which can make it hard for you to do your daily tasks even sleeping. One simple trick to ease this ache is by rubbing Vicks on a piece of cotton ball and placing it in your ear overnight. This can be done until the pain is gone.

TOENAIL FUNGUS
Rub Vicks on the infected toenails 2-3 times daily and as long as it is needed.

CRACKED HEELS
Apply it on the heels and balls of the feet then massage on the affected areas. This is best done in the evening. After massaging, put on your socks before sleeping. Rinse off in the morning using warm water. Exfoliate with pumice stone.

KEEP ANIMALS AWAY
If you want your pets to stay away from your couch, doors and curtains, dab them with Vicks and they will surely stay away from your furniture.

BRUISES AND CUTS
If you have some bruises and minor cuts, apply salt then add a thin layer of Vicks. This will dissolve the marks faster because this combination makes the circulation of blood faster.

BUGS
Apply a dab of Vicks on your clothing or skin to drive the bugs away from you.
