GOTU KOLA; Another Miracle Herb Just For You


Gotu Kola or takip kuhol as it is called in the Philippines is a plant that is very good for fatty liver. This is a small plant which has been long been used as a herbal medicine in China and India. This plant has small, thin, and soft stem with round shaped leaves. It also has small lavender colored leaves. In the Philippines, this small plant grows anywhere near the rice fields and even on vacant lots.  



The different parts of gotu kola give contain several kinds of nutrients and chemicals that is beneficial for the health. The roots and leaves contain vellarine that gives this plant its taste and smell. The roots and leaves are rich in Vitamin B, resins, carbohydrates, ash, alkaline salts, proteins, alkali, tannins, salt and phosphates. This also has a crude fiber, phosphorus, sodium, iron, niacin, carotene and Vitamins A, B1, B2 and C. 

The entire plant itself can be used for medicinal purposes. The extract can be used in any body pain. This can also be steamed so you can drink it as a tea. The leaves can also be toasted and mixed in your drink. The seeds can also be combined with the tea for medicinal purposes. 

Gotu Kola can be used in treating the following conditions;  

STD – Drinking the liquid from boiled gotu kola is a very effective treatment for gonorrhoea. 

ECZEMA – The crushed leaves can be used to treat eczema. Just place it on top of the affected area. 

LBM – Drink a glass of water mixed with crushed seeds. 

FEVER – Mix toasted leaves with water and you can drink this to treat a high fever.
