ATIS (SUGAR APPLE) A Natural Remedy For Hypertension, Asthma, Cholesterol Among Others.


Sugar Apple or Atis in the Philippines is a well-loved fruit and a relative of soursop or guyabano except that it doesn’t have spikes. It has white creamy flesh too. This fruit is high in protein. 

Aside from having a high protein content, there are other health benefits that Atis can boast of.  



ASTHMA 
Eating sugar-apples or atis helps in avoiding asthma attacks because this fruit is rich in Vitamin C which meets more than one hundred fifty percent of RDV (recommended daily value). Asthma is an inflammation that occurs in the airways. 

CHOLESTEROL 
This fruit is a great source of niacin which is an effective aid in lowering the cholesterol levels. 

HYPERTENSION  
Being high in potassium which is equivalent to 18 percent of the RDV, this makes it easier to regulate the blood pressure level. Potassium, being a mineral that has the ability to control negative effects of too much intake of sodium, is very effective in the treatment of hypertension.  

HEART 
This fruit is heart friendly. It contains vitamin B6 that helps avoid the build-up of homocysteine, a kind of amino acid. When the blood has a high amount of acid in it, there is a high risk of having a stroke or developing a coronary heart disease. 

THYROID 
This fruit contains copper; a trace mineral which aids the production of thyroxin, a thyroid hormone. 

ENERGY 
Snack on sugar apples if you always feel sleepy even if it is not night time. This fruit has thiamine that converts sugar in your body into energy.
